WINTER 2008

The right side of my original photos are blurry....why you say? The day I took them I was so tired from working that I thought my eyes were tired and not focusing. In reality it was a finger smudge on the lens of the camera. Got a kick our of myself when I realized what had happened.

August is not a good time of year to begin remodeling a mobile home. Especially one that has 2 barely working air conditioners, both scarcely hanging from the windows in which they were placed. The weather was in the 100's and my little tuna can reeked of leftover odors from cigarettes and a dog...not a good picture.

My role model for this endeavor... MY AUNT MARY, who encouraged me all along the way by listening and laughing with me. She was a fixer-upper and remodeler...and I would follow in her footsteps!?!

One of my major concerns....No official place for the toilet paper...I spent weeks and weeks commiserating where or where would the toilet paper go?
The smaller nested table fit perfectly next to the toidy as a TP holder...I was thrilled!! No more on the counter top or hanging over the cabinet dooooorrrr!

COMPLETED. NEW COUNTERTOP, NEW BOWL SINK, LIGHT IS FLOATING ON TOP OF MIRROR. KNOBS RELOCATED...
HAND PAINTED WALLS TO DISGUISE OVER 30+ HOLES AND SCARS.

Bathtub - needs no explanation....
Refurbished metal strip around the tub...new formica, new faucets and shower head.

Wow! What a transformation! I fell in love with a similar home once. It is amazing what a little hard work and creativity will do. Well done!

What a great job of updating this mobile. It's very close to my "new" mobile. Kitchen is a little different so, you gave me some good ideas and, the 2nd bedroom seems a little larger in yours. Bathroom is the same. I will have to replace the tub with a walk in shower. Was hoping to get some ideas from you but, it might mean I have to move the toilet and therefore, the laundry. so it's a little complicated. I see you put the bed in front of the window. I want to do that too but, couldn't figure out if it would work. Also wonder why you took out the corner dresser. I was thinking of doing it too and putting a bifold door across the whole thing. So happens I have one. I look forward to any more posts you may put up. Thanks for posting these invaluable ideas. Lynn
